The University of South Carolina has extended head football coach Shane Beamer’s contract through December 31, 2030. The new agreement increases his annual salary to $8.125 million starting in 2025, with a $100,000 raise each subsequent year, culminating in $8.625 million in 2030. This represents a 27.4% raise from his previous salary of $6.375 million during the 2025 season.
The contract maintains the existing buyout terms:
• University Termination Without Cause: The university would owe Beamer 65% of the remaining contract value.
• Coach’s Voluntary Departure: If Beamer leaves for another position, he would owe the university $5 million in 2025, decreasing by $1 million each subsequent year until 2030.
Performance incentives remain unchanged, offering bonuses for postseason achievements, including up to $300,000 for a College Football Playoff appearance and $500,000 for reaching the quarterfinals, with additional amounts for further progression.
This extension reflects the university’s confidence in Beamer, who has led the Gamecocks to a 29–22 record over four seasons, including a notable 9–4 campaign with a six-game winning streak to conclude the regular season.
