South Carolina and Vanderbilt game time set in what is now a very important matchup

Normally, the Vanderbilt game is one to overlook on the schedule, but this season, it is one the Gamecocks need to win.

A game that is normally one that teams could just put a W next to before the season started is suddenly not too easy anymore. South Carolina is set to take on a newly invigorated Vanderbilt team next week on November 9th.

South Carolina is 4-3 on the season and has five more chances to become bowl-eligible. The one game that the Gamecocks are probably not as worried about is the home game against Wofford on November 23, but that leaves four games to get at least one win to hit at lucky number six.

Normally, South Carolina would probably not be sweating it knowing they still had Vanderbilt on the schedule, but this new Vanderbilt team is something to fear behind New Mexico quarterback transfer Diego Pavia.

With kick-off just a little over a week away, the Gamecocks now know they will be playing the Commodores at 4:15 p.m. in Nashville in a key game.

Vanderbilt has probably been on the most impressive and surprising teams this season, probably only behind Indiana, who is undefeated so far this season. The Commodores have the out-right most exciting upset this season, taking down No. 1 Alabama, getting their first win against the Crimson Tide for the first time in over 40 years, and their first win over a top-five opponent ever.

However, Pavis will have to face a very dominant South Carolina defense, but he held his own against Texas. The Longhorns walked away with the win, but anything is possible against this South Carolina team. The offense will need to come out and be ready to play because the defense plans to take care of business in Nashville.
