Williams-Brice Stadium will host a heavyweight SEC clash on Saturday, October 25, as the South Carolina Gamecocks welcome Alabama Crimson Tide. The game will kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET and air nationally on ABC.
Alabama leads the all-time series 14-3 over South Carolina. The Tide also holds a 4-2 edge when playing in Columbia. Last season's meeting in Tuscaloosa was a nail-biter, but the Tide managed to edge out the Gamecocks 27-25. The Gamecocks' last triumph over Alabama came back in 2010, in Columbia, 35-21.
The Tide have been solid in conference play, so South Carolina will need a flawless performance at home. Every drive, every possession, every decision will count for this game. Especially considering that the Gamecocks will face a tough conference game the weekend prior against Oklahoma, emotional recovery and mental focus will be key. How South Carolina handles that game emotionally will matter, but so will how they respond to adversity when the Tide rolls into Columbia.
With a raucous Williams-Brice crowd behind them and the chance to continue to rewrite the narrative, this could be one of those defining weekends that shows whether Beamer's team is built for the big moments or still learning how to finish them.
South Carolina (3-3, 1-3 SEC) will host Oklahoma (5-1, 1-1 SEC) this week while Alabama (5-1, 3-0 SEC) will host Tennessee (5-1, 2-1 SEC).
