Oklahoma hasn't lost a lot of games at home, especially in the last 25 years. The Sooners have only lost 14 games at home since 1999, well make that 15 games now after the blowout loss at the hands of South Carolina.

There is no question that the Gamecock defense dominated in the game against Oklahoma, but even with such a dominant performance, head coach Shane Beamer still wants to see more, especially from his offense.

"We're stubbing our own toe too much offensively," Beamer said in his post-game press conference. "We've got a bye week now to really hammer in, going into game eight, to where we can be a lot more efficient offensively than we were today, for sure."

South Carolina's offense only put up 21 points in this game, which sounds good, but it was two touchdowns, one with a two-point conversion, and two field goals. The first touchdown the Gamecocks scored on the offensive side of the ball came on a short field, which was given to them by a turnover from the defense on the first drive of the game. So they only drove down the field and scored once throughout the whole game.

Beamer knows going forward, the defenses they are going to face are only going to get tougher, so the offense needs to get things figured out, especially in order to play complimentary football with the phenomenal Gamecock defense.

"Look, this is a really good defense, but every (team) we play the rest of the season has a really good defense in this league, and then Clemson at the end of the regular season," Beamer said. "We need to be better."

Today was the day of defense for South Carolina, as the defense put up record numbers. On Oklahoma's first three drives, each one resulted in a turnover, two of them returned for touchdowns by the defense. The defense had a total of 9 sacks and 13 tackles for a loss, along with four total turnovers. Turnovers were the biggest key to the game according to Beamer and South Carolina did its job today and made a statement.

"We know what kind of team we can be," Beamer said. "It is time; we talked about, we have been banging on the door, it is time to kick the door down, we certainly kicked the door down today."

South Carolina will have a bye week to continue fine-tuning everything and building on this win before they take on Texas A&M at home for homecoming in Week 10.
