A Crime Scene of an Upset
In the latest SEC Shorts video released on Monday morning, fans are treated to a hilarious (and disheartening) mock-crime scene investigation after Vanderbilt hammered No. 11 South Carolina 31-7 to snap a 16-game losing streak. In the parody video, the sketch portrays "SEC Investigators" arriving to solve the mystery of who murdered the Gamecocks. The tone of the videos is cheeky throughout, classic of SEC Shorts. One detective even jokes to the slain Gamecock laying on the ground, covered in a sheet, "Not so cocky now," delivering the perfectly punny jab at South Carolina's expense.
The video's comedic timing and over-the-top acting is always in good fun, roasting the once-cocky Gamecocks for getting brought down to earth (literally) in brutal fashion. And, of course, who is the culprit in the investigation? None other than the Commodores' lovable swaggering character, affectionately known as the "Vandy Pimp" or King Vanderbilt, with his regal robe and absurdly large sunglasses...and ego. Although, in this case, Vandy's ego is hardly a crime.
The SEC Cops are called in to try and solve all the upsets.

In true SEC Shorts fashion, the rivalry is portrayed as a tongue-in-cheek battle for the basement of the SEC, with Vanderbilt climbing out and handing South Carolina a heaping slice of humble pie. The result is a lively, laugh out loud spoof that any and all SEC fans, Gamecock or Commodore, can appreciate. SEC Shorts always knows how to bring the playful metaphors and rivalry jabs that perfectly capture the satirical spirit of college football fandom.
