Sarah Rumely Noble named new South Carolina volleyball head coach

Sarah Rumely Noble has been named the new head coach of South Carolina volleyball. With a strong SEC background and coaching success at Appalachian State and LSU, Noble aims to elevate the Gamecocks’ program.

Sarah Rumely Noble has been appointed as the 12th head coach of the University of South Carolina's women's volleyball team, athletics director Jeremiah Donati announced Monday.

Noble brings a wealth of experience both as a player and as a coach withing the SEC. Prior to joining South Carolina, she served as the head coach at Appalachian State for three seasons, where she significantly improved the program's performance. Before her tenure at App State, she was an assistant coach at LSU for five years and was instrumental in recruiting.

As a player, Noble had a distinguished career at Kentucky where she earned SEC Player of the Year and All-American honors. She was also inducted into the Kentucky Athletics Hall of Fame and recognized as an SEC Women's Legend.

As his first hire as the new athletics director, Donati expressed enthusiasm about her appointment, stating that her values align with those of the university. Noble herself also expressed her excitement about leading the Gamecocks to a bright, new future.
