The 2026 South Carolina softball season ended this past weekend. Despite strong performances in the NCAA regional in Los Angeles against Cal State Fullerton, the Gamecocks ultimately were eliminated by No. 5 UCLA 15-1 in the regional final.
One bright spot during an up-and-down season in Columbia for the Gamecocks was the play of redshirt senior Quincee Lilio. This season, she finished second on the team in batting average with a .341, behind leader Tori Ensley. She also had the Gamecocks’ second-best on base percentage of .910.
Now that her time in Columbia is officially over, her name will officially live on forever in South Carolina's record books. Lilio finished her South Carolina career with a 4.78 on-base percentage, which breaks a record that was initially set in 1993:Â Â Â

The previous record holder was South Carolina's Tiff Tootie, who finished her Gamecock career in 1990-93 with a .467 on-base percentage. Lilio's final games in a Gamecock uniform ended on high notes. She hit two home runs in the Los Angeles Regional, including one that helped give her team the victory over Cal State Fullerton:

The moment was a special one for Lilio, who is a California native. She is from Oceanside Calif., and had several family members in the stands to see her shine on one of softball's biggest stages.Â
Congrats to Lilio on the fantastic achievement, and one heck of a two seasons at South Carolina!Â
