With SEC realignment, here's 3 yearly games South Carolina football fans should be glad to get rid of

South Carolina football fans (and fans of the rest of the SEC) are going to have to get used to playing a different schedule than the norm.

South Carolina Football's 3 yearly games fans should be glad to be rid of:
Texas A&M Aggies

South Carolina football fans do not like playing the Texas A&M Aggies. The results on the field haven't been good (A&M leads the series 9-1), and things have been tough since the season opener of 2014. In the Aggies' nine wins, six of them were by double-digits and four of them were by more than 20 points. Even though Texas A&M has just one more top-25 finish than Carolina during that span, the results in the annual meeting have been lopsided.

The "Battle for the Bonham Trophy" (did you even know there was a trophy for this game?) has felt like a forced "rivalry" that exists only for the convenience of the SEC schedule-makers. A previous cross-conference rivalry with the Arkansas Razorbacks made much more sense as the two teams joined the league at the same time.

Geographically, College Station to Columbia was the longest road trip possible in the SEC before the Texas Longhorns and Oklahoma Sooners joined the league. Seeing that road trip move from every other year to every fourth year should be viewed as a good thing for the program and a fanbase that would rather see some other teams.
