Earlier this summer, the NCAA eliminated the limits that had been in place for Division-1 coaching staffs. While there still will be just ten coaches who can go on the road recruiting, additional assistants can be included on coaching staffs, and those roles will not be just as "analysts" or "graduate assistants" anymore. On Thursday, South Carolina football coach Shane Beamer revealed how this has affected the Gamecocks.

Following his Birdies with Beamer golf event, the USC headman addressed some new titles for former off-field coaches Mike Shula, Greg Adkins, Trey Money, Ryan Yurachek, Ahmad Smith, Tim McConnell, and Kevin Hubbard.

For Shula, who previously was the head coach of the Alabama Crimson Tide and an NFL assistant for over 30 years, senior offensive assistant coach will be his title. He has been working alongside offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains with his unit and, specifically, with quarterbacks.

Greg Adkins will be, as he has been known for some time, the assistant offensive line coach, taking some of the burden off of Lonnie Teasley.

Trey Money also will continue doing something he's been doing for several seasons as he helps out defensive coordinator Clayton White with his position group as his title will be assistant linebackers coach.

Loggains and Shawn Elliott will utilize Ryan Yurachek as the team's assistant tight ends coach. Yurachek's work with the tight ends will free up Coach Elliott to provide some aid with the offensive line and give him more time to devote to his duties as the run game coordinator.

Ahmad Smith will be the assistant defensive backs coach behind veteran Torrian Gray, working with corners, nickels, and safeties.

Tim McConnell will fill the void left by the departure of Tyler Zielenske, becoming the assistant special teams coach after the latter followed Jody Wright to Murray State to be his special teams coordinator.

Helping out Travian Robertson will be assistant defensive line coach Kevin Hubbard. With the Gamecocks potentially utilizing both a 3-3-5 and a 4-2-5 defense this season, perhaps no unit will have more overall responsibilities than the defensive line group, so having an extra coach in the mix will be a benefit.
