The latest South Carolina Gamecocks news, starting with Dawn Staley's South Carolina basketball team securing yet another Final Four berth.

On Friday, the Gamecocks took down the Indiana Hoosiers in a tight game in the Sweet Sixteen. USC led by as many as 22, but the final score was 79-75. Kamilla Cardoso was excellent as she dominated fellow All-American Mackenzie Holmes down low.

On Sunday, Carolina bested Oregon State in a physical battle, coming out on top 70-58. Kamilla Cardoso again won the matchup between two All-American post players.

Cardoso was named the Regional's Most Outstanding Player, and she and point guard Raven Johnson made the All-Regional team.

Carolina will take on NC State in Cleveland as the Final Four begins on Friday, Apirl 5th.

Though Coach Staley and her team are a little busy with their NCAA Tournament run, they made some recruiting news.

The Gamecocks made the top-5 for 4-star class of 2024 forward Emely Rodriguez.

Former Gamecock Brea Beal is back in the pro game.

After inexplicably getting cut last year, Beal signed a free agent contract with the Las Vegas Aces last week. With the Aces, she will play with fellow Gamecock legend A'ja Wilson and the defending WNBA Finals champions.

A future Gamecock picked up the top high school honor in the country.

5-star forward Joyce Edwards is the 2023-2024 Gatorade National Girls Basketball Player of the Year.

South Carolina football spring practice rolls along, and the Gamecocks have had some important recruiting news drop in the last week.

4-star quarterback Ryan Montgomery set his official visit for the weekend of the Garnet and Black Spring Game.

4-star linebacker prospect Tavion Wallace dropped his top-12 schools, and, as expected, the Gamecocks made the list.

Former Gamecock Jadeveon Clowney made a big NFL free agency splash.

The Rock Hill, South Carolina native signed with the Carolina Panthers, a team that plays just over the South Carolina-North Carolina border from his childhood home. After one of the best years of his career with the Baltimore Ravens last season, Clowney cashed in for a 2-year deal that can be worth up to $24 Million. He is recruiting fellow former Gamecock Stephon Gilmore to join him.

South Carolina football receiver Nyck Harbor won an award for his work with South Carolina track and field.

Harbor picked up 2 wins last weekend for the Gamecocks, and he was named the SEC Freshman of the Week.

This past weekend, Carolina competed in the Pepsi Florida Relays, and Harbor ran his best-ever 200-meter sprint time when he posted a 20.38 to finish 2nd.

South Carolina football had a roster casualty as a former high school All-American is set to enter the transfer portal.

Speedy wide receiver Kelton Henderson is no longer part of the team and is expected to enter the portal when it opens in two weeks.

A USC running back will miss the rest of spring practice.

Scat back Juju McDowell re-aggravated a collarbone injury he initially suffered last fall. He will have surgery but is expected to be ready for the fall.

Lamont Paris' basketball team made some transfer portal news.

In a surprising move, USC starting guard Meechie Johnson entered the transfer portal. He appears set to return to Ohio State.

In a not so surprising move, reserve Ebrima Dibba also entered the transfer portal.

UT-Martin transfer guard Jordan Sears released a top-6 that included South Carolina basketball.

4-star point guard KJ Greene, a South Carolina native who had been committed to UCF, decommitted. It is unclear if his reopened recruitment will bring him back into real contact with the Gamecocks.

4-star class of 2025 forward EJ Walker took an official visit to Carolina.

The South Carolina baseball team lost their third series out of four to power conference programs this year.

A road trip to Tuscaloosa saw the Gamecocks lose the first two games to the Alabama Crimson Tide before squeaking out a victory in the series finale.

Until game 3, Carolina was bad again with runners on base. Other than a nice start from Eli Jones in the opener, the pitching wasn't great, either.

A Gamecock freshman picked up an SEC honor for his play from the previous week.

Right-handed pitcher Tyler Pitzer was SEC freshman of the week after a dominating start against Vanderbilt and a nice showing in relief in the mid-week.

A former Gamecock got PAID in MLB free agency.

Left-handed pitcher Jordan Montgomery signed a deal with the Arizona Diamondbacks that will pay him about $25 Million this season. There is a vesting player option for 2025 attached to the deal. Montgomery is reunited with USC teammate Christian Walker with the D-Backs.

South Carolina softball won their first SEC series of the year.

After losing on Monday in a rain-postponed game against the Tennessee Volunteers, Carolina won 4 games in a row, including a mid-week contest against Charleston Southern and a 3-game sweep over the Ole Miss Rebels on the road.
