South Carolina football coach Shane Beamer has a big day ahead of him tomorrow. The Early Signing Period begins on Wednesday, and the Gamecocks are set to sign over 20 players from high school, junior college, and the transfer portal. Most of those future signees are already known, but a few new names could pop up, and there are a couple of names who might not end up with the class.

On Tuesday, Beamer announced that the Gamecocks will be adding one more to the recruiting class with his patented #WelcomeHome post to Twitter/X.

The only clue hidden within Coach Beamer's #WelcomeHome message is the #24EverToThee hashtag that indicates the commitment is a high school recruit from the class of 2024.

There are not many players at the high school level (in the 2024 cycle) who are still being pursued by the Gamecocks, but two names stick out.

Wide receiver Debron Gatling, a former Texas A&M commitment, is on flip watch as South Carolina football is believed to be one of the favorites to land the former 4-star wideout. Running back Daniel Hill, a 4-star Mississippi native, is considering USC, Alabama, Tennessee, and Mississippi State, but there isn't much optimism in Columbia surrounding Hill's recruitment.

Every year, teams take a player or two from the high school ranks that sneak up as late commitments to the recruiting class. However, those takes are usually at the February Signing Day after the dust has settled from the first Signing Day and the transfer portal.

The Gamecocks are set to be ranked somewhere between 15th and 20th in the country in the recruiting rankings after the Early Signing Period ends. That's exactly what the South Carolina football program needs to bring its roster to consistent competitiveness in the gauntlet that is the SEC.
