Things are getting downright silly in the transfer portal for the South Carolina football program. The Gamecocks have had 6 players publicly commit to the team from the transfer portal so far, and so far on Thursday, head coach Shane Beamer has already teased out two more commitments to his squad.

The most recent announcement from Beamer came in the form of a video with the defensive coaching staff.

Beamer, along with defensive coordinator Clayton White, defensive backs coach Torrian Gray, defensive line coach Travian Robertson, and EDGE/outside linebacker coach Sterling Lucas recorded themselves giving a big "Welcome Home" to the newest commitment, but the coaches did not give any other clues as to who the player might be.

Neither of the Thursday pledges has announced his commitment publicly, but at least one of the two mystery men was on campus today in Coach Beamer's office according to his earlier #WelcomeHome message.

Georgia Tech defensive end transfer Kyle Kennard was defintely on campus on Thursday. Quarterback AJ Swann from Vanderbilt was on campus earlier in the week but likely was gone before Thursday. South Carolina State running back defection Jawarn Howell was on campus on Wednesday and may have still be in Columbia on Thursday. Former Texas Tech offensive lineman was coming in for a visit on Thursday, as well, and Ball State transfer tight end Brady Hunt is coming in for a visit sometime this weekend.

With more Gamecock transfer portal targets still floating out there, USC might not be done taking transfer players in this cycle.

There also has been very little momentum surrounding wide receiver Juice Wells' portal recruitment, causing some to speculate that a return to Columbia might be on the table. Various reports out of both Tennessee and Texas (two of his four primary suitors) say that neither team seems interested in adding him anymore. Ole Miss still is firmly in the picture, and Oregon could be involved, as well.
