South Carolina Football: Updated official jersey numbers, heights, and weights
By Kevin Miller
South Carolina football fans have been a little distracted by surprising success on the basketball court this winter. Lamont Paris' team is one of the best teams in the SEC after being picked last in the conference in the preseason standings, and Dawn Staley's group is the best team in the country despite this year being branded a "rebuilding year" by the national media.
However, even with all of the hardwood attention, the fanbase still has one eye on Shane Beamer's group.
Over the past couple of weeks, the South Carolina football program has been updating its official online roster. The Gamecocks will look very different in 2024 than they did in 2023 as head coach Shane Beamer and his staff have brought in over 40 new players between incoming freshmen, walk-ons, and transfer portal additions after the departures of about the same amount of former Gamecocks.
The rest of this article will show the updated jersey numbers, heights, and weights for the Gamecocks.
***It is important to note that the listed roster online is still missing a handful of players who have signed with the South Carolina football program but have not enrolled yet in school. Defensive tackle Jerome Simmons (4-star junior college transfer from Highland Community College) and incoming freshmen Matthew Fuller (4-star running back), Jalewis Solomon (4-star cornerback), and Michael Smith (4-star tight end) are not enrolled but will join the team this summer. More walk-ons could also join the program.
***Some of the players' years/eligibility could shift if medical redshirts are processed.
***Positionally, some of the players are listed generally (Elijah Davis is listed as a defensive lineman), while some are listed more specifically (TJ Sanders is listed as a defensive tackle). All secondary players are listed as defensive backs, and none of the offensive linemen have a specific position listed.
