The annual Garnet and Black Spring Game was on Saturday, and Gamecock Nation got its first taste of South Carolina football.

The game was a bit of a snooze fest (as every spring game is), and the offense didn't try to make much happen with play-calling other than a ridiculous defensive back to defensive back attempted pass from Gerald Kilgore to Vicari Swain that should have been intercepted.

The Garnet Team won 17-0 as both defenses were solid. Coach Shane Beamer, who was mic'd up for the SEC Network+ broadcast, did not appear very happy with his offensive line or his special teams unit on several occasions, but he was pleased with his team's effort and competitiveness on Saturday night.

A list of observations from the game would be extremely long, and most of the takeaways would have absolutely zero bearing on the upcoming season. However, there were some things worth noting from the spring game.
