South Carolina football rival has yet another driving-related arrest

A South Carolina football rival is in hot water again.
For the 25th time since January of 2023, the Georgia Bulldogs are involved in an incident in which a player is in trouble with the law over a driving-related incident. This time, redshirt freshman defensive back Daniel Harris is the offending party, and the former 4-star prospect out of Miami, Florida was arrested on five charges, including reckless driving.
According to arrest records, late on Thursday night, the Athens-Clarke County Police Department stopped Harris for reckless driving, and during the traffic stop, Harris was arrested and charged with five misdemeanors. Reckless driving, [lack of] use of safety belts, no proof of insurance, operation of unregistered vehicle without current license plate/revalidation decal, and affixing materials that reduce visibility of windows/windshield were the charges.
So far during his UGA career, Harris has played in just a handful of games, but his role has grown through the early portions of the 2024 season to the point that he has been a reserve secondary player who has been rotated into the game at times. After logging just 1 tackle in 2023, he has made 4 stops so far this fall. It is unclear what discipline (if any) Harris will face from the Georgia football program or from the University of Georgia.
Georgia Bulldogs head coach Kirby Smart has a serious problem on his hands that he has failed to get a grip on over the past couple of years. Results on the field have been tremendous for Smart's program as they have won two National Championships and probably were the most talented team in the country last season. However, the driving-related incidents and arrests are a cloud hanging over Athens.
Reckless driving, DUI, speeding, and street racing have all been charges submitted against Georgia football players since the start of 2023. That January, one Georgia player and one Georgia recruiting staffer were killed after a crash resulting from drinking alcohol and street racing.
