South Carolina football fans have had the pleasure of watching lots of NFL talent come through the program. Throughout Gamecock history, players from just about every position on the field have gone on to very successful career at the professional level.

This year, four former Carolina stars were taken in the NFL Draft as wide receiver Xavier Legette (1st round, Carolina Panthers), quarterback Spencer Rattler (5th round, New Orleans Saints), defensive back Marcellas Dial (6th round, New England Patriots), and offensive lineman Nick Gargiulo (7th round, Denver Broncos) were all drafted last week.

In all, the most successful NFL careers in South Carolina football history have come from the wide receiver and defensive back position groups. But how do the Gamecocks stack up with the rest of the college football world in sending talented players to the NFL at those positions? Specifically, this article will take a look at these numbers since the year 2000.
