Some South Carolina football fans might not even realize the significance of today. For those who are unaware, today is National Signing Day, a day that was once unlike any other.

Wall-to-wall coverage of high school prospects committing, flipping, and putting pen to paper created an all-day event on ESPN and its family of networks.

College football fans would turn on ESPN to see where the top 5-stars were going to play at the next level, then they'd flip over to ESPN2 to see a live view of a big-time 4-star prospect flipping from one SEC school to another, and then they'd open up social media and the message boards to see the ensuing fallout that 17 and 18 year old kids' decisions had on adults across the country.

Good times.

Now, Early Signing Day is the real National Signing Day, but in the college football world, no one has fully let go of the February date. Sure, there are a handful of recruits who announce decisions this late, but for the most part, fans across the country know 90% or more of their incoming freshmen and transfers. The Gamecocks, for their part, signed a top-20 class this year.

Though Early Signing Day has changed the landscape of recruiting, National Signing Day used to be the biggest non-gameday of the year. So, in remembrance of the "good ole days," let's look back at some of South Carolina football's top National Signing Day moments.
