South Carolina football fans have had a busy past few days as they have tried to keep up with all of the players from their favorite team who have gotten their first NFL opportunities.

Wide receiver Xavier Legette (1st round, Carolina Panthers), quarterback Spencer Rattler (5th round, New Orleans Saints), defensive back Marcellas Dial (6th round, New England Patriots), and offensive lineman Nick Gargiulo (Denver Broncos) all were selected in the NFL Draft.

Wide receiver Ahmarean Brown (Cleveland Browns), defensive lineman Tyreek Johnson (New York Jets), and tight end Trey Knox (Minnesota Vikings) all have signed undrafted free agent contracts with NFL teams, and quarterback/running back/wide receiver Dakereon Joyner received a training camp invite from the Seattle Seahawks and New Orleans Saints.

Now, another South Carolina football alum has gotten the NFL call. EDGE Jordan Strachan (who played seven years of college football after dealing with multiple ACL tears in his career) received NFL training camp invites from the Tennessee Titans and Kansas City Chiefs.

The invitations don't come as much of a surprise as reports surfaced in the days leading up to the draft that multiple teams contacted Strachan to express interest in him. With late-round draft pick interest from those teams expressed, it seemed a foregone conclusion that the defensive end was going to find his way to training camp with a team, at minimum.

Rumors had floated around since the draft ended that Strachan was going to get an NFL shot (the Titans opportunity surfaced first), but it took until later on Sunday for anything to be confirmed.

During his South Carolina football career, Jordan Strachan tallied 8 sacks and 16 tackles for loss after transferring from Georgia State following the 2020 season. His performance against Kentucky in 2023 was his best game and earned him SEC Defensive Lineman of the Week honors as he logged two sacks, including a big strip sack that helped seal the victory.
