South Carolina football fans might be surprised to learn that their favorite team has three players who have found themselves on Heisman Trophy odds. Just one Gamecock ever has won the award as running back George Rogers was the 1980 Heisman Trophy winner.

According to various Las Vegas betting outlets, quarterback LaNorris Sellers, running back Raheim Sanders (Rocket Sanders), and wide receiver Nyck Harbor all have long odds of winning college football's premier individual award. Because they are all long shots when listed, there are plenty of betting outlets that omit the South Carolina football teammates, as well.

FanDuel released odds recently that have Sellers listed with +20000 odds. New transfer QB Robby Ashford had been listed at +30000 odds, but after Gamecock head coach Shane Beamer named Sellers as the player who will get "the first snaps" this spring, Ashford's odds were removed. Various other outlets have Sellers anywhere from +20000 and +35000 odds.

Sellers is joined in the Heisman Trophy odds by two offensive teammates.

Rocket Sanders, the Gamecocks' presumed starter at running back after transferring in from the Arkansas Razorbacks, has a wide range of odds. Sanders has odds as high as +10000 but as low as +50000. FanDuel has Sanders listed at +30000 odds. He universally had +10000 or better odds heading into the 2023 season, but knee ailments that kept him out or limited all fall have dampened his odds for this year.

The third Gamecock listed on Heisman Trophy odds is wide receiver Nyck Harbor. The former 5-star is entering his sophomore season, and the Olympic-level sprinter has enough potential that some sportsbooks couldn't stay away from putting him in their Heisman Trophy odds. Harbor is the long shot of long shots as he holds +100000 odds according to two sportsbooks.

Surely, by the time the college football season arrives in late August, the oddsmakers will have different views on who is most likely to win the top honor in the sport.

Spring practice will begin for Sellers, Sanders, Harbor, and the rest of the South Carolina football team on March 19th.
