South Carolina Football Christmas:
Gamecock Santa's Nice List, The Wofford Terriers

The Wofford Terriers are the last of five teams that should be on Gamecock Santa's nice list. The Terriers have not beaten South Carolina since World War I, and there is no reason to suspect that that will change in 2024.

Additionally, the two teams actually share some fans. Much like is true of fellow in-state program Furman, many Wofford alums are also South Carolina football fans, so there really isn't any animosity between the two schools (even if Gamecock fans hate when their school play the Terrier basketball team).

Wofford also no longer runs the triple option. Historically, USC has struggled with smaller, option-based attacks (1984 Navy, 2015 The Citadel, etc.), and there were a couple of Wofford contests that were closer than expected when the black and gold ran the triple option. Carolina fans can breathe a sigh of relief that they will not have to worry about that when the two teams meet up next November.

Wofford will be coming to Williams-Brice Stadium the week before the Clemson game, so, hopefully, the Terriers will provide the Gamecocks with a "get right game" heading into rivalry week. If/When they do, Wofford will solidify their spot on Gamecock Santa's nice list.
