South Carolina football had over twenty players enter the transfer portal this offseason. Most of them have found new homes, but a few of them are still floating around in the portal without anywhere to play.

One former Gamecock, though, entered the transfer portal in December, found a new home rather quickly, and now is back in the portal again.

According to a report from 247Sports' Stephen Igoe, wide receiver O'Mega Blake is back in the transfer portal after spending just a few months with the East Carolina Pirates. According to Igoe, Blake did not "mesh" with the team, the coaching staff, or the offense during his time in Greenville, North Carolina.

Blake spent most of the spring running with the second team offense with the Pirates, something that he did not enjoy as it was clear that he left the South Carolina football program in hopes of more playing time. Blake had a good performance in East Carolina's spring game last weekend, though, so perhaps he put enough on film for another decent team to take a chance on him.

The Gamecocks lost four other receivers to the transfer portal this offseason as Landon Samson, Kylic Horton, Zavier Short, and Juice Wells all left the team in December. Wells is now with the Ole Miss Rebels, Short is an Appalachian State Mountaineer, but Samson and Horton have not found new teams.

To replace the five lost receivers, South Carolina football coach Shane Beamer and his staff brought in five receivers. Transfer portal players like Jared Brown (Coastal Carolina), Gage Larvadain (Miami (OH)), and Ahmari Huggins-Bruce (Louisville) and true freshmen Mazeo Bennett and Debron Gatling have joined the program already, but Beamer has made it clear they are in the market for another wideout in the spring transfer portal window.
