South Carolina football and SEC release first availability report ahead of LSU game
By Kevin Miller
The Southeastern Conference implemented a new "availability report" mandate this offseason. Essentially, the new league rule requires SEC teams to submit NFL-style injury reports and updates to the league ahead of conference matchups in football, basketball, and baseball. After receiving the report, the conference will publish the availability report, creating better transparency in the lead-up to games. Last week's Kentucky-South Carolina football matchup was the first time the reports were submitted.
On Wednesday night, a second wave of SEC availability reports came available as LSU-South Carolina, Florida-Texas A&M, and Georgia-Kentucky are all part of Saturday's slate of games.
According to South Carolina football coach Shane Beamer's submission, the Gamecocks remain relatively healthy for this weekend's big game against the LSU Tigers.
Offensive lineman Jakai Moore is out again, and reserve linebacker Andrew Colasurdo is listed as doubtful. Wide receiver Gage Larvadain and offensive lineman Trovon Baugh are the only two Gamecocks listed as questionable. Defensive back Emory Floyd, a 2-deep player at corner who has not played yet this season, is listed as probable.
Though not listed on the report, defensive back Zahbari Sandy is out for the season, and offensive lineman Aaryn Parks remains out with a long-term injury. Quarterback LaNorris Sellers tweaked his hip a bit against Kentucky on Saturday but was not listed on the injury report, indicating that he is fine heading into this weekend's game against LSU.
There will be updates to USC's availability report on Thursday and Friday evenings before a final report drops 90 minutes prior to toe meeting leather inside Williams-Brice Stadium.
College GameDay will be in Columbia on Saturday, and fans can tune in to watch the pregame coverage on ESPN, ESPNU, or the ESPN app starting at 9:00 AM ET. Kickoff is slated for Noon ET, and the game will be available on ABC, ESPN+, and the ESPN app.
