South Carolina Football's 5 Things to Watch During the Spring Game:
How Might the Gamecocks Look Different under New Coaches?

This offseason, the Gamecock coaching staff changed a lot.

Running backs coach Montario Hardesty was fired. Eventually, Marquell Blackwell took over that position group.

Tight ends coach Jody Wright left to become the head coach at Murray State, and he was initially replaced by former wide receivers coach Justin Stepp, but when Stepp left for Illinois, Shawn Elliott took over the position.

Wide receivers coach Justin Stepp moved to the tight ends job but went to Illinois so that he could keep coaching receivers. James Coley took over for about 45 days but left for Georgia. Now, former Limestone head coach Mike Furrey is the leader of the wide receiver room.

Special teams coordinator and associate head coach Pete Lembo became the head coach at the University of Buffalo, and long-time NFL assistant coach Joe DeCamillis took over those two titles.

Even defensive tackles coach Travian Robertson is going through his first spring practice with the Gamecocks after taking over for Jimmy Lindsey at the end of last April.

With all of the changes to the coaching staff and the players they will coach, it will be worth paying attention to on Saturday what looks different for the Gamecocks.
