South Carolina Football Players and Coaches Who Must Step Up in 2024:
Quarterback LaNorris Sellers

With Spencer Rattler heading off to the NFL, the quarterback position is one of the biggest question marks on the team, so new starter LaNorris Sellers will be called upon to step up in a big way this fall. Thankfully for Gamecock fans, there are plenty of reasons to be optimistic about Sellers' ability to fill #7's shoes.

Even as a redshirt freshman, the young signal-caller will have high expectations put on him, but he will have to meet or surpass those expectations for Carolina to have a good showing on the field.

A freaky talent, Sellers has elite potential as both a passer and as a runner. He demonstrated some of that in spot duty last fall, but he will be playing virtually every snap this season.

The Carolina offense won't look exactly like it did with the more pass-centered Spencer Rattler at the helm, and with the shift toward a lot of quarterback run game, there's a chance Sellers actually has more combined passes and carries than Rattler did.

There is not a more important position on the field than quarterback, and if USC is to move up the ladder that is the SEC hierarchy, LaNorris Sellers must be good.
