OBSERVATIONS
- Starters: Raven Johnson-Te-Hina Paopao-Bree Hall-Chloe Kitts-Kamilla Cardoso
- Vanderbilt jumped out to a quick lead as they seemed to have more energy than the Gamecocks (Vanderbilt was off this week, Carolina played on Thursday).
- The Commodores tied the Gamecocks in 1st half rebounding 19-19, and both teams were really good on the offensive glass.
- Aga Makarat was a problem for the Gamecocks as they constantly lost track of her around the 3-point line.
- The reserves were bad on defense, allowing Vanderbilt to score 25 points in the 4th quarter (including 11 for Sacha Washington).
- Kamilla Cardoso, Chloe Kitts, and Raven Johnson combined for just 2 minutes in the 4th quarter.
- Transition defense wasn't great again on Sunday as the Gamecocks gave up 12 easy points on fast breaks, including one time in which they didn't get back in time to collect the fast break miss, allowing a 2nd chance bucket before anyone made it down the court.
- Carolina didn't shoot it well from outside, knocking down just 30% of their shots, including a 1-7 effort from Te-Hina Paopao.
