South Carolina Basketball vs. Presbyterian
Thumbs Down 1: Allowed Offensive Rebounds

It's not always easy to come up with three "negatives" to be thumbs down in blowout games like this one, but the Gamecocks had a weird day rebounding. They dominated the glass 55-33, but they allowed the Blue Hose to grab 17 offensive rebounds. Granted, they missed 54 shots, but PC grabbed 1/3 of their misses, a number that is too high in a game that the Carolina should have completely dominated from a size and physicality standpoint.

Thumbs Down 2: Free Throws

A more legitimate negative has been a recurring theme: the Gamecocks are not knocking down their free throws. Against Presbyterian, Carolina made just 61.9% of their shots from the charity stripe. Heading into the game, Dawn Staley's team was shooting 65% from the line on the season. That number dropped a bit on Saturday, and they will have to improve their foul shooting before facing tougher competition. Plus, if they would have made just one more of the freebies, they would have cracked 100 points for the 6th time this season.

Thumbs Down 3: Decreasing Offensive Efficiency

To be frank, we're grasping at straws here. However, the Gamecocks got a little bit worse each quarter on Saturday. After a tremendous 1st quarter in which they shot 72% and scored 36 points, the Gamecocks' point totals and field goal percentage dropped each quarter that followed. Some of that was due to the number of minutes played by backups, and some of it was due to the lower level of aggression that the Gamecocks' played with as the game got out of hand.
