South Carolina basketball entered Saturday with an 11-0 record, and they exited the day 12-0 after yet another victory away from home. On the young season, the Gamecocks have played just as many games on the road or at neutral site venues as they have at Colonial Life Arena, a rarity for big-time programs' out-of-conference schedules.

The latest victim was the East Carolina Pirates. USC traveled to Greenville, North Carolina for the game and won handily as they finish out-of-conference play undefeated for the third straight season.

Despite not shooting particularly well from anywhere on the floor, Dawn Staley's squad was never in danger of falling out of the ranks of the unbeaten on Saturday. The Carolina defense held the Pirates to 19.4% shooting from the field and 16.7% efficiency from behind the 3-point line.

The scoring that USC did get came from a fairly evenly-distributed effort as no Gamecock had over 12 points (MiLaysia Fulwiley and Kamilla Cardoso led the way with 12 each). Cardoso also pulled down a double-double (12 points, 10 rebounds) in just 20 minutes of action.

Chloe Kitts snagged 10 boards of her own, while Fulwiley stuffed the box score with 9 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals to go with her 12 points.

The Gamecocks' offensive approach looked like their more-limited 2022-2023 offense as they took just 13 total shots from outside despite plenty of opportunities.
