Women's college basketball has become appointment television. This season, in particular, fans have had the opportunity to witness an undefeated South Carolina basketball team fight for history despite losing their entire starting lineup from last year, a superstar Caitlin Clark go for the all-time scoring record, and the rebirth of college basketball in Los Angeles as UCLA and Southern Cal became top-5 teams at the same time for the time in a long time.
ESPN and their fleet of cameras have been documenting these three young women and their teams all season, both in America and abroad. For Cardoso, that means her trip to Paris with the Gamecocks and her work in Brazil with her country's national team are included.
Cardoso, Clark, and Rice are three of the most recognizable faces in women's college basketball, but their teams all have very real chances of playing their way into the national championship discussion. UCLA and Iowa could be on a collision course for an Elite 8 matchup in which the winner advances to the Final Four, and South Carolina could face either for the national title.
The docuseries is not complete, however, as the filming will continue through the NCAA Tournament. The series will be broadcast on Saturday, May 11th and Sunday, May 12th, with episodes 1 and 2 playing back-to-back at 1:00 PM EST on the 11th and episodes 3 and 4 playing back-to-back at 12:30 PM EST on the 12th. All four episodes will be shown on ABC. After they have been shown for the first time, they will be available for streaming on ESPN+.
The docuseries is entitled Full Court Press and is directed by Kristen Lappas.
