South Carolina Basketball: Not content to just sell out all the home games, Gamecocks sell out SEC Tournament too

South Carolina basketball fans are on the verge of setting new attendance records. Now they've helped sell out the SEC Tournament, as well.

South Carolina basketball fans are on the verge of setting some new all-time women's college basketball attendance records.

The Gamecock Faithful have a chance to break their own total attendance record and Tennessee's average attendance record. The marks are within reach with near sellouts of the team's final home games of the season, a realistic goal based on recent trends in Columbia.

This coming Sunday will be Carolina's fourth straight Sunday sellout, and the game is against the lowly Georgia Bulldogs. With games remaining against Alabama and the rival Tennessee Volunteers before two NCAA Tournament contests, the 2023-2024 South Carolina basketball team should end up with both records.

However, it appears Gamecock fans aren't content with just selling out Colonial Life Arena. On Tuesday, the SEC announced that this year's SEC Tournament (being held in Greenville, South Carolina) is already sold out of all its reserved ticket books.

The only tickets available for the event are single-session tickets and some general admission offerings, and the sale of those tickets did not begin until Wednesday. Not many are available, so it is a foregone conclusion at this point that Bon Secours Wellness Arena will have capacity crowds at every game (as long as the Gamecocks handle business, that is).

This is the 7th time Greenville will host the SEC Tournament and the 6th time since 2017. Fans of the garnet and black have made sure that the arena has been filled each time their team has stepped on the floor, and that trend will continue in 2024.

Dawn Staley's team has won seven of the last nine SEC Tournament championships, including four of the last five that have been held in Greenville.

This year's SEC Tournament will take place from March 6th-10th and every game will be broadcast on the ESPN family of networks.
