South Carolina Basketball: SEC schedule revealed for 2024-2025 season

South Carolina basketball coach Dawn Staley and her team have not gotten the respect they deserve this offseason. The Gamecocks brought home their third national title just over a month ago with a historic undefeated season, but the offseason discourse has already shifted to next year, and despite Carolina returning everyone but Kamilla Cardoso from last year's rotation, there is not a consensus view that a repeat is in the offing.

In the schedule lull that occurs after the NCAA Tournament is finished and the transfer portal has closed, many in the women's college basketball world have fallen into the trap of offseason boredom and transfer portal hype. (Remember 2023-2024 LSU?)

The Southern Cal Trojans (and a few other teams like the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, UCLA Bruins, and Texas Longhorns) have been propped up as the best bets to take down the Gamecocks. In some projections typically surrounding the "other USC," the non-South Carolina squads have been picked as the outright national championship favorites over the Gamecocks.

As they face more doubters than they deserve, the 2024-2025 Gamecocks are looking to take their "Revenge Tour" and turn it into a "Repeat Tour." On Tuesday, they learned exactly what they will be up against in conference play as the SEC released every team's home and away schedule for the 2024-2025 campaign.

Tip times and TV/streaming information will not be known for some time, but every team's opponents and the location of their games are now available.

With the Texas Longhorns and Oklahoma Sooners joining the SEC this fall (starting with football), every team's 16-game women's basketball schedule will consist of games against all 15 of their conference foes and one home-and-away set that will rotate each season. For the 2024-2025 Gamecocks, the Texas Longhorns (arguably the second-best team in the league) will be the opponent on the schedule twice.
