OBSERVATIONS

  • Starters: Raven Johnson-Te-Hina Paopao-Tessa Johnson-Sania Feagin-Ashlyn Watkins
  • Kamilla Cardoso was out (suspension) and so was Bree Hall (undisclosed). Sahnya Jah had entered the transfer portal earlier in the week, meaning the Gamecocks had 8 players available in this game.
  • Sania Feagin was an active scorer early. Chloe Kitts continued the effort when she came in off the bench. MiLaysia Fulwiley was on fire, knocking down 4 3-pointers in her first 7 minutes of game action.
  • The Carolina defense fell asleep on several occasions in the 2nd quarter, allowing PC to go on an 8-0 run. MiLaysia Fulwiley, in particular, caught the ire of Coach Staley for some lax defense.
  • After halftime, the Gamecock defense was better than the subpar 2nd quarter. Carolina held Presbyterian to just 14 points after the 2nd quarter ended.
  • Chloe Kitts and Sania Feagin each picked up double-doubles as 5 players reached double-figures in scoring. Kitts did not miss from the field as she tied her career-high in scoring.
  • The Gamecocks had 18 stocks (steals + blocks) in the game. Presbyterian had just 17 made shots.
