OBSERVATIONS
- Starters: Raven Johnson-Te-Hina Paopao-Bree Hall-Chloe Kitts-Kamilla Cardoso
- Mississippi State came out and punched the Gamecocks in the mouth with sharp offense and physical rebounding.
- By the time the 1st half ended, Carolina tightened its defense, settled its offense, and flipped the rebounding battle in their favor, finishing the half on a 34-19 run and with a lead in shooting efficiency (FG%, 3P%, and FT%), assists, turnovers, and rebounding.
- MiLaysia Fulwiley didn’t play much in the 1st half and really struggled when she did. She missed a layup, threw up an airball, and had a silly foul on a rebound. She was better in the 2nd half.
- The Gamecocks had a decent day from the free throw line, knocking down 75% of their freebies.
- The Gamecocks shot a pathetic 14-34 for the game on shots at the rim.
