OBSERVATIONS
- Starters: Ta’Lon Cooper-Meechie Johnson-Zach Davis-BJ Mack-Collin Murray-Boyles
- Stephen Clark and Eli Sparkman were unavailable for the game; After returning from injury against Tennessee in a bench role, Myles Stute came off the bench again on Saturday.
- The Gamecocks owned the paint on offense early as Collin Murray-Boyles and Josh Gray were really good on the block. The rebounding effort wasn't good enough, though, as BJ Mack had 0 boards in the 1st half.
- Georgia hit 8 3-pointers in the 1st half, including a 7-10 start. Still, the Gamecocks only trailed by 2 at halftime.
- For the 3rd time all season, the Gamecocks allowed a 40-point half. It came on the back of 8 3-pointers from the 'Dawgs.
- The Gamecocks' 1-3-1 zone stifled the Bulldogs in the 2nd half. After scoring 40 points and making 8 3-pointers in the 1st, they had a stretch without a field goal that lasted almost 8 minutes. In the entire 2nd half, they only managed 22 points and made just 1 3-pointer.
- Josh Gray and Collin Murray-Boyles were excellent all day, scoring 31 points (both on 7-9 shooting) and pulling down 13 rebounds.
- Ta'Lon Cooper controlled the game when the Gamecocks were on offense, racking up 8 assists, including several easy dunks for his bigs.
- Zach Davis was really good on defense in the 2nd half 1-3-1. He also pulled down 6 rebounds and dished out 3 assists.
- Meechie Johnson bounced back with a solid performance. He hit 50% of his shots and 3-5 from 3-point land to score 11 points. He also had 4 rebounds and 3 assists.
- BJ Mack, Jacobi Wright, and Myles Stute struggled.
