South Carolina basketball commitment Eli Ellis is special.

The small combo guard is rated as a 4-star prospect in the class of 2025, but his high level of play could make him a candidate to receive a bump in the rankings.

Despite being about 6'0" tall, Ellis is one of the best offensive players in the country, possessing elite shooting ability and a really nice package of finishing moves around the basket. Adept at scoring with either hand, Ellis has enough skill and ballhandling acumen to get wherever he wants on the court, even without having above-average athleticism.

He is also one of the most famous players in his class, boasting over 1 million followers combined on his TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube accounts.

The social media sensation is even better at basketball than he is at marketing himself (and he's pretty good at that, too), and he showed that on Saturday night.

Playing for his Moravian Prep/Overtime Elite Yng Dreamerz squad, Ellis broke his own scoring record in a matchup with another one of the country's top young guards. Playing much of this game against Kansas Jayhawks commitment Rakease Passmore, Ellis could not be stopped as he scored an absurd 50 points and also chipped in 5 assists and 6 rebounds.

The most impressive part of his night wasn't that he scored 50 points. It wasn't even that he scored 50 points against a Kansas commit. It wasn't even that he scored 50 points against a Kansas commit who is much bigger and more athletic than he is. No, instead, the most impressive part of Ellis' game was that he scored 50 points against a Kansas commit who is much bigger and more athletic than he is WHILE PLAYING WITH A BROKEN FINGER.

You can watch the entire game here.

Ellis is one of two South Carolina basketball commitments in the 2025 recruiting class. 4-star forward Hayden Assemian is the other.

Ellis' younger brother Isaac is a class of 2026 prospect.
