South Carolina basketball coach Lamont Paris has two players committed in the class of 2025. Dynamic scoring guard Eli Ellis and athletic power forward Hayden Assemian both committed to the Gamecocks in the fall, but Paris and company are not done looking for additional high school prospects to join the program.

One USC target in the '25 cycle is Kentucky native EJ Walker. The 6'8", 230-pound 4-star power forward is an athletic and skilled player whose versatility would allow him to play any frontcourt position in the right situation. While naturally a 4-man, Walker has enough ball skills to play the 3 or stretch-4 and enough strength and length to play the 5 in small-ball lineups.

Previously put in Walker's top-12, on Monday, South Carolina basketball made his top-4 along with the Purdue Boilermakers, Wisconsin Badgers, and Ohio State Buckeyes.

In his top-4 announcement, Walker also revealed that he has set his commitment date. This Friday evening, he will hold an announcement ceremony at the Lloyd Memorial High School gym to reveal his college decision.

As a player, Walker is an aggressive scorer who can score at all three levels. As an outside shooter, he is comfortable, and at 6'8", he typically can get off his outside shot without much resistance at the high school level. If he can continue to get good looks at the college level, he should be a plus-shooter for his position.

Walker isn't afraid to put the ball on the floor to make a play. He can hit midrange shots off the dribble and can get to the basket. He can make tough shots if guarded closely and seems to be becoming a better passer on film.

On defense, Walker moves pretty well, and he uses his length and strength to be a major deterrent to opposing players. He blocks a lot of shots at the prep level and has a knack for getting his hands on loose balls and sloppy passes.
