South Carolina Basketball's 2024-2025 Roster Breakdown:
Wing Weston Coggeshall

Weston Coggeshall joined the program this summer as a walk-on. The Charleston, South Carolina native played his high school ball at Philip Simmons where he was a key player for the Iron Horses.

Coggeshall is listed at 6'2" and 175 pounds, and he seems to be filling one of the walk-on spots that previously belonged to Eli Sparkman and Danny Grajzl before they moved on from Coach Paris' basketball team.

Like most walk-ons, Coggeshall should not be expected to have a major role on the 2024-2025 South Carolina basketball team, but, like Sparkman before him, he could see the court periodically if he can be a reliable player.

Coggeshall's strength is his shooting. He is a good catch-and-shoot player who likes to find places to spot up. In Lamont Paris' offense, one of the two primary means of getting open 3-point shots is the drive-and-kick game (the other is in pick-and-pop situations), and Coggeshall is a player who can knock down those open looks after a defense collapses on a ballhandler.

Coggeshall is one of two walk-ons who joined the program this summer (along with fellow shooting guard Lance Piper), but it is unclear if either player has a leg up on the other in the potential playing time pecking order.
