South Carolina Basketball's 2024-2025 Roster Breakdown:
Forward Okku Federiko

Committing on the same day as Morris Ugusuk last spring, Finland U18 national team teammate Okku Federiko was the first Gamecock pledge in the class of 2024.

At 6'9" with a wingspan well over 7'0", Federiko has the length to play down low, but he is an athletic and skilled player who could be asked to do some things on the perimeter, as well. He is a confident shooter and ballhandler, so he should be able to take advantage of slower-footed bigs when he draws them out to the 3-point line.

Federiko's role on the 2024-2025 team largely will depend on his physical readiness and his shooting success. If he can put on a little bit of weight (he was listed between 190 pounds and 200 pounds by most recruiting sites) and be a threat to knock down shots from outside, he will play.

The true freshman likely will be the most versatile post player on the roster this season as he posseses the same stretch-4 skillset as Jordan Butler in a potentially more athletic package. He is not as big as Butler, so what they bring to the table won't be exactly the same, but the two players will be in competition with each other and veteran power forward Benjamin Bosmans-Verdonk for the backup post player minutes behind presumed starters Collin Murray-Boyles and Nick Pringle.
