South Carolina basketball coach Lamont Paris recently finished re-tooling his Gamecock roster for the 2024-2025 season.

After USC lost Ta'Lon Cooper (graduation), BJ Mack (graduation), Stephen Clark (graduation), Meechie Johnson (transfer portal), Josh Gray (transfer portal), and Ebrima Dibba (transfer portal) from last year's team, the Gamecocks have two freshmen, three transfer portal players, and a former walk-on filling those six roster spots. Walk-on Eli Sparkman retired, and fellow walk-on Danny Grajzl is no longer listed on the roster, but two new walk-ons have taken their places.

Top-50 national wing prospect Cam Scott and 4-star versatile forward Okku Federiko are incoming freshmen and center Nick Pringle (Alabama Crimson Tide), power forward/center Jordan Butler (Missouri Tigers), and point guard Jamarii Thomas (Norfolk State Spartans) make up the transfer portal class. Former walk-on Austin Herro was added to the scholarship count after signee Trent Noah flipped to the Kentucky Wildcats. Walk-ons Lance Piper and Weston Coggeshall have joined the team.

Carolina returns some big-time talent from last year's squad, as well. Sophomore Collin Murray-Boyles is on the verge of being a star in the SEC, wings Myles Stute and Zach Davis will get almost every minute at the 3 this season, and combo guard Jacobi Wright and post player Benjamin Bosmans-Verdonk bring a lot of experience. Sophomore Morris Ugusuk has a lot of potential if he can take a step forward this offseason, and redshirt freshmen Arden Conyers and Austin Herro could add some shooting punch.

South Carolina basketball fans are extremely optimistic about their favorite team. The Gamecocks should be in contention for back-to-back NCAA Tournaments for the first time since the '90s run when BJ McKie and company led the team to being a 2-seed and 3-seed in consecutive years.

With about six months left before game one, there is plenty of time for things to change before the season begins. However, now that the roster seemingly is set, let's take a look at every player on the roster, starting with the guy most expect to be the top player in garnet and black this season.
