South Carolina Basketball: Gamecocks to be featured in CBS/TNT behind-the-scenes
By Kevin Miller
South Carolina basketball fans are beyond excited to watch their Gamecocks in March Madness. Carolina has not been in the NCAA Tournament since the 2016-2017 season (which ended with a remarkable Final Four run), and it had been over a dozen years before that.
The anticipation around Lamont Paris' team is high, and the television networks have decided to cash in on the Gamecocks. According to a release from the NCAA, South Carolina basketball will be one of six programs that will be part of behind-the-scenes NCAA Tournament coverage from CBS Sports and TNT Sports.
The South Carolina Gamecocks will join the Tennessee Volunteers, Boise State Broncos, UConn Huskies, Northwestern Wildcats, and Marquette Golden Eagles as the focal points of documentary-like coverage of their respective journeys through March Madness. It is unclear how long the coverage will continue if the Gamecocks (or the other five teams) continue to win their way through the Big Dance.
The camera crews from TNT and CBS were already on scene in Columbia for the Gamecocks' Selection Sunday watch party and will remain with the team for travel, practices, and the lead up to their game on Thursday against the Oregon Ducks.
Some of the coverage will be viewable on TNT, TBS, CBS, and truTV around NCAA Tournament broadcasts, some will be available on the @MarchMadnessMBB Twitter/X and Facebook accounts, and even more will be posted on @MM_MBB_TV, NCAA.com, TNT Sports, and CBS Sports accounts on social media. Social media accounts for the teams involved (including South Carolina basketball) will also be reposting footage.
The South Carolina Gamecocks and the Oregon Ducks will tip off at 4:00 PM EST on Thursday inside Pittsburgh's PPG Paints Arena. The game will be broadcast on TNT and streamed on the TNT app and the March Madness Live app.
