South Carolina baseball fans are not too happy with the current state of their favorite program. A 15-5 overall record doesn't seem too bad, but the Gamecocks have only played 5 games against teams from power conferences, and they've lost 4 of them.

The latest two losses came in a series loss to the Ole Miss Rebels. A solid game on Sunday kept the Gamecocks from entering into "disastrous start" territory, but Carolina still lost the first two games of the series to put them behind the 8-ball to start SEC play.

As a result, Mark Kingston's team took a tumble in the rankings, even completely falling out of multiple top-25 polls after beginning their conference schedule with a series loss to a bottom half of the SEC team.

D1Baseball removed South Carolina baseball from their poll, dropping them from the 20-spot in last week's rankings.

Perfect Game followed suit as the Gamecocks fell from 18th to completely out of the top-25.

According to Baseball America, South Carolina is a top-25 team. The outlet ranks the Gamecocks 21st in their top-25 poll.

Based on USA Today, the Gamecocks are not a top-25 team after a poor showing last weekend.

The NCBWA concluded that USC belonged in the top-25 but just barely. Carolina is #25 in their poll.

College Baseball Central is the highest on Mark Kingston's team of all the polls, ranking South Carolina baseball 17th in their latest poll.

The Gamecocks are back in action in the mid-week on Tuesday with a neutral site contest against USC-Upstate at Fluor Field in Greenville. The game against the Spartans will begin at 6:00 PM EST and will be broadcast on ESPN+. The weekend schedule will resume with a home series at Founders Park against the top-10 Vanderbilt Commodores. All three games will be on the SEC Network+ and will begin at 7:00 PM EST (Friday), 4:00 PM EST (Saturday), and 1:30 PM EST (Sunday).
