How to watch the NCAA National Championship Game
By Kevin Miller
The 2023-2024 NCAA National Championship Game in women's college basketball is nearly a perfect matchup. Dawn Staley's South Carolina basketball squad is undefeated and approaching history. They will take on the NCAA's all-time leading scorer in Caitlin Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes as Clark looks to cement her legacy (and possible GOAT status with her first championship title.
The women's game has seen a massive uptick in interest in recent years, and record-breaking viewership numbers prove it. The Gamecocks-Hawkeyes showdown likely will beat these new records.
The championship game is scheduled for 3:00 PM EST on Sunday in Cleveland's Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse. ABC will broadcast the game, and it will be streamed on the ESPN app.
The game will be simulcast on ESPN as Sue Bird and Diana Taurasi will be joined by several guests to break down the game in real time. The Bird and Taurasi Show will be available on the ESPN app, as well.
ESPN+ will have two additional views of the game available as the Beyond the Rim broadcast will provide aerial views of the court, and the On the Rail broadcast will show the full length of the floor in one shot.
ESPN's top women's basketball broadcast crew will be working the game as Ryan Ruocco (play-by-play), Rebecca Lobo (analyst), and Holly Rowe (sideline reporter) will be on the call and studio team Elle Duncan, Andraya Carter, Chiney Ogwumike, Carolyn Peck, and Aliyah Boston will be handling the pregame, halftime, and postgame analysis (and possible interviews). Lisa Mattingly and Denny Meyer will be there (and hopefully not needed much) to serve as rules/officiating experts during the broadcast.
If the Gamecocks win their third National Championship, South Carolina basketball fans might be interested in an SEC Network broadcast, as well, as University of South Carolina graduate Alyssa Lang will be joined by Steffi Sorensen for a postgame show on SEC Now at 8:00 PM EST.
