The transfer portal has drastically changed college football over the past couple of seasons. This offseason, South Carolina football coach Shane Beamer and his coaching staff utilized it to plug numerous holes on their roster, and despite not getting much national attention, the Gamecocks brought in a really nice transfer portal class.

The group of more than 20 new Gamecocks did not have many highly-rated transfers, but it was a unit full of good football players who will compete for spots in the two-deep and make the 2024 version of the South Carolina football team better than they would have been without them.

On Wednesday, On3's Jesse Simonton wrote an article about five classes that have flown under the radar this offseason but that deserve respect as some of the nation's best. He included the Gamecocks' transfer portal haul on his list.

On3 and Simon are a little higher on the Gamecock transfers than other outlets, ranking USC 10th nationally in portal work this offseason. Simonton noted in his article that the Gamecocks' efforts at the wide receiver, offensive line, running back, and defensive line positions (17 of their transfers) will help reshape the weakest points on the team.

The transfer portal class is listed below:
