South Carolina basketball alum A'ja Wilson has emerged in recent years as the clear best player in the WNBA. Now playing with Team USA at the Paris Olympics, the two-time WNBA MVP and two-time WNBA Finals champion is doing her best to show the rest of the world that she has no equal on the court as she leads the red, white, and blue in pursuit of their 8th-straight Olympic gold medal.

After a dominating performance in the team's first game against Japan, Wilson went off again against Belgium on Thursday. In a game that Team USA would go on to win by 13 points, Wilson scored 23 points and swallowed up 13 rebounds. So far, she is the only player (in the men's or women's tournament) to have two double-doubles during these Summer Olympics, and she is one of just a small handful of players to be averaging over 20 points per game while also shooting over 50% from the field.

Against Belgium on Thursday, Wilson led all players (from both teams) in rebounds and steals, and her 23 points trailed leading scorer Breanna Stewart by just 3 as Stewie got to the free throw line for 10 attempts. Just as they were in the team's first game of these Olympics, Wilson and Stewart stood head and shoulders above every other player on the court. Though the game was somewhat close on the scoreboard, it never felt as if Germany truly was within reach thanks to the USA's dynamic duo.

The United States Basketball Women's National Team will take the court again on Sunday, August 4th at 11:15 AM ET as they close out group play with a matchup against Germany. The game will be broadcast on the USA Network and will be streamed on the Peacock app. With two wins under their belt, the USA already has secured a place in the quarterfinals that will begin next week.
