Though he won't have had much to do with the recruitment, Uscher is hoping to receive his first commitment of his time in charge of the South Carolina football recruiting efforts.
Penn State has been viewed as the heavy favorite for most of Cyrus' recruitment, but the Gamecocks have given the talented playmaker plenty to think about over the past couple of months, making things at least somewhat interesting ahead of his announcement this week.
As a player, Cyrus is a menace with the ball in his hands. On tape, he has speed and quickness that jump off the screen as defenders never can seem to take proper angles on him in pursuit. He accelerates to top speed quickly, and his vision allows him to leverage his quickness and straight-line speed to maximum potential.
Cyrus is small (listed between 5'10" and 5'11" and under 180 pounds), so his ability to hold up to the physicality of college football is a concern for some. However, players with his skillset often do not take many big hits thanks to their elusiveness as defenders are lucky just to get their hands on them, let alone make them pay for their lack of size.
