One of the position groups that Shane Beamer and his South Carolina football staff have recruited best in recent years is the offensive line. Offensive line coach Lonnie Teasley has led the charge in bringing in six blue chip prospects in the classes of 2023 and 2024 (and another so far in the class of 2025).

The Gamecocks have one offensive line recruit pledged to the program in the class of 2026 as in-state big fella Anthony Baxter joined the fold this spring. Another target up front in the '26 cycle is G'Nivre Carr, a Florida native who has some real interest in the South Carolina football program.

On Sunday, Carr trimmed his list of offers down to 12 top school, and USC made the cut.

Carr's list of offers is filled with the best programs in the country, and his top schools list is, as well. The South Carolina Gamecocks, Miami Hurricanes, Florida State Seminoles, Oklahoma Sooners, Michigan Wolverines, South Florida Bulls, Tennessee Volunteers, Florida Gators, Auburn Tigers, Louisville Cardinals, North Carolina Tar Heels, and Alabama Crimson Tide are his current finalists.

As a player, Carr is rated as an interior offensive lineman by all four major recruiting services (On3, 247Sports, ESPN, and Rivals), but the Trinity Catholic High School and IMG Academy product has experience playing all over the line so far in high school.

Carr is a strong and athletic lineman who has good feet. That combination allows him to be a very good player in space on pulling plays and fold blocks, and he has some good building blocks as a pass blocker. At 6'4" and 330 pounds, Carr has the necessary size and strength to hold up against big defensive tackles.

As a player in the class of 2026, Carr has two more years of high school remaining in which he will be able to develop. If he grows any taller (and gets longer arms), tackle could be in his future, but as it stands today, he has great potential as a guard or center at the college level.
