In his NFL Combine interview today, South Carolina's Nick Emmanwori indicated his confidence in his own athletic abilities, predicting an impressive 4.3-second time for the 40-yeard dash. Standing at 6-foot-3 and weighing 223 pounds, he emphasized his unique combination of size and speed. And when asked which NFL player he models his game after. His answer? Baltimore Ravens safety Kyle Hamilton.
“I’m 6-3, 223 (like Hamilton),” Emmanwori said. “I’m a bigger dude, and I can run. So, like, I’m not really scared to go make tackles, I’m not scared to cover any slots, I’m not scared to cover any tight ends.”
Emmanwori is considered to be one of the top safeties in this draft class, and he expressed his belief in being selected early on in the upcoming draft. “I don’t think you’ve ever seen a safety like me… with my size, my speed, and my ability,” he said. “Growing up, I used to play corner, so my footwork is probably the best of this safety class.”
When asked about his upcoming 40-yard dash time at the Combine, he simply said, "4.3," which could definitely solidify a first-round pick for Emmanwori.
