Getting selected in the NFL Draft is a dream for most college football players. For some that are lucky, they get to see that dream come true. Former South Carolina Gamecocks cornerback Brandon Cisse was the first Gamecock taken in the 2026 NFL Draft, getting selected No. 52 overall by the Green Bay Packers in the second round.

One of the coolest moments about the draft every year is seeing players react when the respective head coach or general manager calls to let them know their team is picking them. Cameras were on Cisse when he got his call, and it is an awesome moment to see:

He also had a specific message for Gamecock nation after getting picked:

In Green Bay, Cisse will get a chance to play under new Packers defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon. He'll also join the likes of talented defensive backs like Xavier McKinney, Carrington Valentine and Keisan Nixon, and pass-rusher Micah Parsons.

Cisse now joins the list of several talented Gamecock defensive backs to get drafted, including Stephon Gilmore, Dunta Robinson, Jonathan Joseph and Jaycee Horn.

Congrats to Cisse on reaching the next step of his career! You will make South Carolina fans proud.
