Yet another Gamecock is headed to the pros! South Caolina tight end Josh Simon has agreed to an undrafted free agent deal with the Atlanta Falcons.
Simon is one more in a line of tight ends from South Carolina in the NFL that Gamecock fans can be proud to watch on the professional stage.
After beginning his college career at Western Kentucky, Simon transferred to South Carolina ahead of the 2023 season and quickly became an important piece of the Gamecock offense. In his first season, he caught 28 passes for 256 yards and two touchdowns.
The following year, he stepped it up a notch. Simon posted 40 catches for 519 yards and seven touchdowns, leading the team in receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns, setting a new school record for single-season touchdown grabs by a tight end.
In the six years he played at the collegiate level, Simon racked up 154 catches for 1,921 yards and 24 touchdowns across 64 games, both at Western Kentucky and South Carolina. Now, Simon will look to carry that production to Atlanta.
