What's old is new, and what's new is iconic. The South Carolina Gamecocks football team on social media made an announcement that has sent Carolina fans into a frenzy on Tuesday afternoon.

It was announced on July 22 that the Gamecocks will be ditching the small logos on the side of their helmets to go even bigger in 2025. After a few seasons with a smaller Gamecocks "Block C" logo on the side of the helmets, they will be reverting back to the original size of the logo and the stripes down the middle. During the early 2010s, the Gamecocks went with a smaller logo on the sides and would occasionally throwback to the bigger version of that. However, it seems those days are now over.

The 2024 season saw the Gamecocks have a throwback "Block C" logo on the side of the helmets in Games 4 and 11, which was a callback to the 1975-81 teams. There was an all white helmet with the bigger logo for Games 6 and 13 this past season. Now, it feels like there will no longer be only specialty games for the decals that fans came to know during the independent haydays of the Gamecocks.

Now, could there be updated jerseys for the 2025 season? That is not for certain; however, it is good to see the Gamecocks football team hearing out the fans and bringing back a fan favorite helmet logo for the upcoming season. As if things couldn't be more exciting for the Gamecocks in 2025, now the swagger is back with a vengence as Carolina football will be wanting to look good, while playing good as well. The first game at Williams-Brice will be rocking with the best entrance in college sports, and with one of the most electric helmets at South Carolina.

Now the only thing left that remains is for the season to finally get here for the 2025 football season. Things are going to be cranked up to 11 as the Gamecocks are poised for a huge season in Shane Beamer's most anticipated season as the head ball coach in Columbia.
