The SEC Softball tournament began on Tuesday, and the South Carolina Gamecocks were one of six teams to play in the first round. This year's tournament was hosted at the home of the Kentucky Wildcats at John Cropp Stadium in Lexington, Ky.Â
It marks the first time since 2013 the SEC softball tournament was hosted there.Â
The Gamecocks earned the No. 12 seed in the tournament, set to take on the No. 13 seed Ole Miss Rebels. Due to a forecast calling for harsh weather to roll in on Tuesday, the first game between No. 14 Auburn and No. 11 Missouri was moved up to Noon ET.Â
The Tigers prevailed 6-2. First pitch for the Gamecocks and Rebels is expected to start around 5 p.m. ET, or approximately 35 minutes after the conclusion of No. 10 Mississippi State and No. 15 Kentucky.
